DMG MORI Manufacturing USA, Inc. Installing Solar Power System in 2022
Davis, CA – DMG MORI Manufacturing USA, Inc. is installing a 2,000 kilowatt (kW) solar panel system on the roof of its manufacturing site in Davis, California. The array will cover about 80% of the roof with over 4,600 panels and will be expected to provide 100% of the yearly electricity used in the factory.
The transition to an on-site solar power system will reduce electricity costs, reduce reliance on energy from a third-party grid, and lead to more cost-efficient production. Once installed, the system will only need periodic cleaning to ensure maximum generation capacity and regular performance monitoring.
The project is another step closer to the site’s goal of becoming a 100% carbon-free factory. In 2021, DMG MORI Manufacturing USA, Inc. reduced its annual energy consumption by 21%, in comparison to 2020, and in November 2021, energy usage was lowered by 30%.

DMG MORI Manufacturing USA, Inc. is investing an estimated $3.4 million in the project with an expected completion of July 2022.
