IN4.0S’ Smart Factories of the Future generate 45 technical jobs by incorporating DMG MORI equipment.

IN4.0S US LLC Continually, Strategically Partners with DMG MORI to Create New Employment Opportunities

Chicago, IL – DMG MORI, an industry leading machine tooling manufacturer, through an on-going partnership with IN4.0S US LLC, an organization focused on developing advanced manufacturing enterprises for strategic sectors,  achieved a high water mark in 2020 by executing Smart Factories of the Future. The first Smart Factory of the Future has been executed with a complete DMG MORI portfolio by purchasing additive manufacturing machines, 5-axis champion machines and more to aid in their manufacturing process.

Smart Factories of the Future, an IN4.0S creation, is a cyber-physical system, location agnostic factory focusing on manufacturing for life-sciences, supporting organizations spearheading the fight against COVID-19 and strategically important sectors for the nation. IN4.0S US LLC has also been considered, as an organization, through the World Economic Forum membership as a partner through meeting criteria of New Champions.

“The SMFF have generated 45 high paying technical direct jobs, by incorporating USD $22.5 million of DMG MORI manufacturing equipment. The partnership succeeded in proving its concept of the Future of Work, during the pandemic and continues to work relentlessly to support the fight against COVID-19, create new employment opportunities and support nation building,” said IN4.0S US LLC’s Co-Chairman & CEO, RJ Singh.

DMG MORI’s advanced technologies integrated by IN4.0S include a variety of 5-axis and additive manufacturing machines. DMG MORI’s DMU 65 FD duoBLOCK, DMU 65 monoBLOCK, DMU 75 monoBLOCK, DMC 80 FD duoBLOCK, LASERTEC 30 SLM 2nd Generation, LASERTEC 30 DUAL SLM, LASERTEC 4300 DED hybrid, LASERTEC 65 DED hybrid and more have purchased by IN4.0S.

DMG MORI 5-axis
Technology Overview

Universal milling machines mark the beginning of the leadership of DMG MORI in the world market in the area of 5-axis machining. Whether for the classical 5-sided milling operation or 5-axis machines for the premium class of highly precise simultaneous machining, the availability of a wide series ranging from basic to high-tech determines the complete spectrum of an efficient milling technology. Other impressive features include achievable accuracies of below 0.38 µin in space and a variety of workpiece dimensions that can be manufactured – up to 88,185 lb component weight as well as travel paths of up to 19.7 ft.

DMU 75 monoBLOCK
Combines top features for five-axis simultaneous machining

Highly demanding industries require machine tools that are up to the challenge of realizing best quality in the most economical way. The monoBLOCK series developed by DMG MORI has set a benchmark in almost every sector: aerospace, automotive, or medical, among others, relies on the machine tools’ precision, stability, and flexibility.

  • footprint of only 8 m² (excluding chip conveyor)
  • Large working area 750 x 650 x 560 mm
  • NC swivel rotary table
  • SK40-speedMASTER motor spindle with 20,000 rpm
  • Maximum stability thanks to a large bearing in the swiveling rotary table and large ball screws in all axes

LASERTEC DED hybrid:
Perfect additive and metal-cutting combination

DMG MORI already revolutionised the additive manufacturing of metal components six years ago by combining laser deposition welding and machining on a single machine. This concept is used in both the 5-axis LASERTEC 65 DED hybrid and the LASERTEC 4300 DED hybrid. It combines laser deposition welding and 6-sided turn-mill machining. Both machines are designed for the manufacture of comparatively large components. Work areas of ø 500 x 400 mm in the case of the LASERTEC 65 DED hybrid and ø 660 x 1,500 mm for the LASERTEC 4300 DED hybrid speak for themselves as do workpiece weights of up to 600 kg or 900 kg.

LASERTEC SLM: Offensive from the powder bed

With the powder bed technique very small, highly complex filigree parts can be manufactured by means of selective laser melting like the LASERTEC DED machines, the LASERTEC 30 SLM enables the flexible use of different materials, while an intelligent powder module concept allows the change of material in under two hours. DMG MORI sets new standards in selective laser melting with the LASERTEC 30 DUAL SLM. Two powerful 600 W lasers, whose scan field each covers the entire build area, enable build rates of up to 90 cm³/h. The software automatically recognizes which scan strategy is the most efficient thus ensuring the LASERTEC 30 DUAL SLM always operates optimally and that it can be used flexibly depending on the order situation. In addition, a focus diameter of 50 µm enables a level of accuracy that is unique in this machine class.
