DMG MORI’s additive manufacturing machines build IN4.OS’ DMG MORI portfolio.

IN4.OS US LLC Strategically Purchases DMG MORI’s Additive Manufacturing Machines

Chicago, IL – DMG MORI, an industry leading machine tooling manufacturer, sells additive manufacturing machines to IN4.OS US LLC, an organization focused on developing advanced manufacturing enterprises for strategic sectors, to construct Smart Factories of the Future. The first Smart Factory of the Future builds their DMG MORI portfolio by purchasing additive manufacturing machines to aid in their manufacturing process.

Smart Factory of the Future, an IN4.OS concept, is a cyber-physical system, location agnostic factory that has the ability to deliver flexible and scalable manufacturing capabilities. IN4.OS has strategically partnered with DMG MORI, with a focus on manufacturing for strategic sectors. With the launch of the Smart Factory of the Future, IN4.OS will now have the largest portfolio of the latest generation DMG MORI Additive Manufacturing equipment.

DMG MORI’s LASERTEC 30 SLM 2nd Generation, LASERTEC 30 Dual SLM, LASERTEC 4300 3D hybrid and LASERTEC 65 3D hybrid were purchased by IN4.OS. The LASERTEC 3D and LASERTEC SLM series constitute the cornerstone of DMG MORI’s strategic orientation in this future-oriented technology. While the LASERTEC 3D hybrid successfully combines laser deposition welding with a powder nozzle and 5-axis milling, the LASERTEC SLM series stands for selective laser melting in a powder bed. Both manufacturing technologies complement each other ideally.

LASERTEC 3D hybrid: Perfect additive and metal-cutting combination

DMG MORI already revolutionised the additive manufacturing of metal components six years ago by combining laser deposition welding and machining on a single machine. This concept is used in both the 5-axis LASERTEC 65 3D hybrid and the LASERTEC 4300 3D hybrid. It combines laser deposition welding and 6-sided turn-mill machining. Both machines are designed for the manufacture of comparatively large components. Work areas of ø 500 x 400 mm in the case of the LASERTEC 65 3D hybrid and ø 660 x 1,500 mm for the LASERTEC 4300 3D hybrid speak for themselves as do workpiece weights of up to 600 kg or 900 kg.

LASERTEC SLM: Offensive from the powder bed

With the powder bed technique very small, highly complex filigree parts can be manufactured by means of selective laser melting like the LASERTEC 3D machines, the LASERTEC 30 SLM enables the flexible use of different materials, while an intelligent powder module concept allows the change of material in under two hours. DMG MORI sets new standards in selective laser melting with the LASERTEC 30 DUAL SLM. Two powerful 600 W lasers, whose scan field each covers the entire build area, enable build rates of up to 90 cm³/h. The software automatically recognizes which scan strategy is the most efficient thus ensuring the LASERTEC 30 DUAL SLM always operates optimally and that it can be used flexibly depending on the order situation. In addition, a focus diameter of 50 μm enables a level of accuracy that is unique in this machine class.
