Grand Opening: DMG MORI USA in Charlotte
New regional headquarters in Southeast USA
In a grand opening, DMG MORI USA opened a new regional headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, on May 4, 2021. In the approximately 1,250 m² building, the machine tool manufacturer is integrating the branches in Nashville, Tampa and Charlotte to create a central sales and service location for the entire region in the Southeast and East USA.
“With around 40 employees we ensure smooth service processes and design state-of-the-art manufacturing solutions for our American customers,” Daniel Medrea, COO East Region, DMG MORI USA Inc, states referring to the new regional headquarters in Charlotte. A 260 m² solution center is available to them for this purpose. Training courses on all aspects of versatile CNC technology as well as the digitization of machine tool manufacturing and the use of exclusive DMG MORI technology cycles are also part of the range of services offered at the new location.
A showroom with four machine tools provides practical insights into our product range. The range there includes the NLX 2500 SY universal turning center, the NTX 2500 turn & mill center, the DMU 65 FD monoBLOCK milling & turning machine and the CMX 50 U 5‑axis machining center. The latter is also automated with a PH 150 pallet handling system.
Grand Opening with high level of engagement
On May 4 through 6, 2021, DMG MORI USA celebrated the Grand Opening in Charlotte, North Carolina. With participation of Dr. Masahiko Mori, President of the DMG MORI COMPANY LIMITED, Dr. Keiichii Ota, President of DMG MORI USA, Inc., and local government officials as well as customers from throughout the Southeast region the East and Southeast USA headquarters was opened in a ribbon cutting ceremony. During the three days, customers experienced live test cuts on four machines, all connected with the DMG MORI Messenger, NETservice and CELOS PC. “With over 100 customers from over 50 different companies, the event was very well attended, the mood was positive and the level of engagement from all the participants was high,” Daniel Medrea recalls. This was the first live in-person event DMG MORI had done since the COVID closures and it was positively overwhelmed with the interest and participation of the visitors.
The new building in Charlotte, marks the physical implementation of the restructuring that has taken place over the last two years. It will not only serve as a joint office for the Southeast after Nashville, Tampa and Charlotte were consolidated into one, but also as the HQ for the East Region, with multiple support staff for the region working from the new office. “We aim to bring in our latest technologies for the future, not only to showcase and demo to our customers, but also to use them as a training platform to develop our own employees,” Daniel Medrea explains and is optimistic for the future: “With this new home base, we will be able to help our customers to attract and retain world-class manufacturing work for years to come.”
