The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is principally responsible for the sale of DMG MORI products to provide innovative solutions to customer work requirements on DMG MORI machine tools.  The position reports to the Regional Sales Director on the development of prospective accounts and retention of current customers.Employment is conditioned on DMG MORI's ability to obtain and maintain any necessary export licensing.

  • Building and fostering customer relationships.

  • Report requirements: Territory Planning and MIS reports are to be submitted weekly.  Expense reports are to be submitted timely, per expense policy requirements.
  • Semiannual visits to OEM factories in Japan, Germany, Italy, and China.
  • Develop strategic and tactical plans in order to accomplish yearly sales goals.
  • Partner with engineering staff for demonstrations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimal Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited university and 5+ years’ of B2B relevant sales.
  • 2-5 years in B2B sales/Business Development.
  • Recent experience in machine tool environments preferred.

Work Environment:

General office environment will be experienced. There will be periodic exposure to manufacturing environments which may present possible hazards such as noise, electricity, chemicals, heavy equipment, and other automated and manual machinery.

  • Experience working with DMG or MORI SEIKI machines, Fanuc, Mitsubishi, and/or Siemens and controls are a PLUS.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with exceptional customer service orientation.
  • Must be able to interact and effectively communicate in person and over the phone with people at all levels of an organization.
  • Proven ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and sequence (PLC) ladder diagrams.
  • Basic computer literacy and working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Minimum of 50% travel in multi-state region; drive or fly depending on distance.  Employee is expected to work at the Technical Center when not visiting customers.

Provide technical support in person or over the phone for customers, sales, and trade shows for CNC Machines.  Complete time studies, test cuts and machine demonstrations as per customer requirements.

Essential Job Functions:

·         Perform application engineering work under direct supervision.

·         Participate in training activities with senior colleagues, internal academy, and external resources.

·         Use CAPPS conversational programming, industry standard CAM systems, and direct G-Code/ Macro programming to generate CNC programs for parts processing.

·         Inspection of finished parts for quality and accuracy.

·         Generate engineering reports and technical documentation.

·         Frequent communication with internal technical staff, external customers, and external suppliers. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field preferred, and/or machining knowledge.
  • 0-2 years related experience.
  • Knowledge in part processing, metal cutting, CNC programming, reading drawings, and machine setup.
  • Basic understanding of Metallurgy.
  • Proven experience to communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
  • Proven flexibility with shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Proven organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week and overtime with advance notice.
  •  Strong analytical/problem solving abilities.

  • Proven ability to deburr and clean parts
  • Ability to load and unload cutting tools and replace and insert tools

Powder Coat Painters are responsible for the complete painting process of sheet metal. This position requires knowledge of powder painting, maintenance of powder coat equipment, and how to read blueprints and drawings.

  • Applying powder paint to sheet metal to achieve painted finish to DMG MORI specifications
  • Reading blueprints and drawings to determine correct paint application
  • Determining the appropriate preparation of surfaces and application of paint
  • Setting up all equipment necessary for the application of powder paint
  • Inspecting quality of finish for appearance and paint adhesion
  • Following maintenance procedures for all equipment in paint which includes but is not limited to maintaining correct chemical balances, wash systems, oven, paint booth and paint guns
  • Assisting other teams as needed when paint tasks are minimal
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 0-5 years powder painting experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Fundamental computer operation skills
  • Preferred requirement – certified to operate a forklift or forklift experience

Work Environment:

Manufacturing environment (welding, cutting, forming, painting, assembly, machining, quality control facility) at DMG MORI Manufacturing. Exposure to possible hazards may include sharp edges, noise, electricity, chemicals, heavy equipment, and other automated and manual machinery.

Physical Demands:

Frequent: Standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling, repetitive foot, leg, hand, arm, shoulder, and torso movements, operating power equipment and hand tools

Welders are tasked to perform welding operations on sheet metal up to ¼ inch thick. This position requires knowledge of MIG welding, TIG welding, fastener welding, deburring, proper jigging and tacking to prevent warping, 3D spatial visualization, and general fabrication.

  • Using precision measuring tools and clamps to setup and inspect parts
  • Welding components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (flat, vertical down, horizontal, or overhead)
  • Positioning and welding fasteners to components
  • Testing and inspecting welded surfaces and structure for flaws
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Professional Certification (e.g. AWS welding certificate) is a plus but not required
  • 0-5 years welding experience (MIG and TIG)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Fundamental computer operation skills
  • Preferred requirement – certified to operate a forklift or forklift experience
