The purpose of this announcement is to formally announce to all of you that the management of DMG MORI has decided to withdraw from participation in multiple exhibitions in the Americas including IMTS 2020 in Chicago. Our decision is in alignment with our strategic direction of the DMG MORI Group to shift the focus of customer interactions towards DMG MORI national and regional solution centers and factories.
Our goal is to help our customer make money and save money, which can only be achieved through a customer centric approach. That means more DMG MORI events such as factory tours, seminars, Tech Days and trainings. We believe that welcoming our customers to our factories and solution centers is the best way to an uncompromising customer experience.
At our technical and solution centers, we can showcase our comprehensive capabilities and products. With this flexibility, we can offer unlimited time for our customer to interact with our sales and engineering teams.
Specifically, we are setting up:
- Our proven Innovation Days for direct experience of our highly efficient products and innovative, digital solutions for Automation, Digitization and Additive Manufacturing
- State-of-the-art DMG MORI Tech Days at our technology and solution centers
- Innovative, digital tools such as the latest CELOS update, my DMG MORI and WERKBLiQ upgrade as well as the software solutions from TULIP
- Extended offers of factory visits, digital workshops, webinars, online trainings and seminars
DMG MORI wants to emphasize that this decision is not a condemnation of trade shows generally nor specifically IMTS nor its sponsor the AMT nor the many people whose efforts over the years have brought meaningful leadership to the machine tool industry.
This decision does not mean that DMG MORI will never take part in any trade show or for that matter in some capacity in IMTS in the future. We will selectively take part in trade shows that can provide DMG MORI the best platform to interact with our customers in a more focused and individualized manner. Focusing our strategy on internal DMG MORI events gives us the flexibility to alter our priorities and plans as necessary.
